About NorthCalc
We built the tools we wished existed when we were figuring out our own finances.
Our Mission
NorthCalc was built out of frustration with two types of financial tools: American calculators that ignore Canada's rules (semi-annual compounding, CMHC, CPP/OAS), and bloated sites that hide useful tools behind sign-up walls or bury them in ads. Our goal is simple: give every Canadian a clean, fast, accurate set of calculators โ free, with no registration and no data collection.
What Makes NorthCalc Different
- All calculations are built specifically for Canadian rules โ Interest Act compounding, CRA contribution limits, provincial tax brackets
- No account required, no email, no data stored โ your inputs never leave your browser
- Mobile-first, fast-loading static pages โ no tracking scripts, no heavy frameworks
- Updated regularly for the current tax year โ 2026 rates, limits, and rules
- Plain-English explanations alongside every calculator so you understand your results

Who We Are
Small team of Canadian developers and finance enthusiasts. We're not financial advisors โ we're people who got tired of doing these calculations in spreadsheets. Always consult a licensed professional for personalised advice.
Accuracy Commitment
We verify all formulas against CRA publications, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), and provincial finance ministry sources. Spotted an error? Contact us and we'll fix it within 24 hours.
